Free dental services available during 'Dentist With a Heart'
Aurora Children's Dental Services has organized the 16th annual "Dentist With a Heart" Feb. 5-19.
Twenty-two area dentists from throughout the Fox Valley will open their doors to the needy, offering free services during specific times.
Over the last 15 years, the free services provided to the people of the Fox Valley have totaled over $1 million. Yes, the services are free. For additional information, visit www.dentistwithaheartonline.org.
No appointments are needed, and calls at the dentist offices will not be taken. Simply arrive at the location selected prior to the starting time listed for that office. Patients will be treated on a first-come, first-serve basis. Be sure to arrive early to ensure your chances of receiving treatment that day. Services are limited to patients over the age of 3 years old; an adult must accompany anyone under 18. No proof of income or need is required.
Free services for the day (unless noted below) include: cleanings, x-ray, diagnostic services, fillings and extractions. Dentists will not be able to provide more involved services such as crowns, bridges, root canals and dentures due to time constraints.
• Friday, Feb. 5 from 8 a.m. to noon, with Dr. John Schmidt at Midwest Dental, 100 S. Latham St., Suite 202, Sandwich
• Wednesday, Feb. 10 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., with Dr. Kimberly Young, Dr. Amy Newkirk and Dr. Carlene Whitney at 1132 Prairie St., Aurora
• Wednesday, Feb. 10 from 8 a.m. to noon with Dr. Amita Raval and Dr. Mark Commean at Boulder Hill Dental, 20 Boulder Hill Pass, Montgomery
• Wednesday, Feb. 10 from 1 to 5 p.m., with Dr. Kim at Lincolnway Dental Center, 648 N. Randall Road, Aurora
• Wednesday, Feb. 10 from 8 a.m. to noon with Dr Mark Weinhold for simple extractions and cleanings only at 1 E. County Line Rd, Suite A, Sandwich
• Thursday, Feb. 11 from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. with Dr. Gary Ahasic, Dr. Larry Sexton, Dr. Brian Tonner, Dr. Michele Bruno, Dr. Don Flynn, and Dr. Salvador Cardenas at 541 Sullivan Road, Aurora
