Wauconda snaps skid by topping Lakes

Wauconda's boys basketball team produced a 17-point fourth quarter in claiming a 41-37 victory over Lakes in North Suburban Prairie play Tuesday.

Wauconda snapped a five-game losing streak as Bryan Nee scored a team-best 16 points (with three 3s) and also contributed 4 steals.

Jarod Stonis had 15 points and went 4-for-4 at the foul line for the Bulldogs (6-12, 3-6). Danny Stanley chipped in with 4 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assist and 3 steals, and Kyle Drobnik had a team-best 6 rebounds.

Lakes, led by a game-high 21 points from Colton Jewell, saw a two-game win streak snapped. The Eagles (11-10, 4-5) were limited to 3 points in the third quarter by Wauconda.

Grayslake North 56, Woodstock North 20: The host Knights stretched their win streak to six games with a defensive masterpiece in Fox Valley Fox Division play.

Grayslake North improves to 18-2 overall and 8-1 in conference play while Woodstock North falls to 4-14 and 2-7.

Carmel 73, Chicago Tech 67: C.J. Duff poured in a season-high 32 points for the host Corsairs in the nonconference game.

Sean Foster added 16 for Carmel (10-11).
