Aurora council member accused of shoplifting again

An Aurora City Council member has been charged with retail theft for stealing from a Meijer store in her ward for the second time since 2013, police said. Tenth Ward Alderman Lynne M. Johnson, 51, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft Sunday. Full story.

Special Olympics events called off for today

The Special Olympics has canceled today's Winter Games events in Galena in response to anticipated hazardous weather that could make travel dangerous, officials say. An opening ceremony in downtown Galena was also canceled, officials say. Full story.

U-46 will expand dual language program

Waukegan offers amnesty for unpaid tickets

Bulls lose to Jazz in OT

Derrick Rose has been vocal at times about not getting foul calls when he drives to the rim. Early in last night's game at Utah, Rose blew up. The Bulls' point guard drove to the basket in the first quarter with Jazz point guard Raul Neto bumping him the whole way. Full story.
