Palatine students introduce Manufacturing Program in Springfield

In an effort to promote college and career readiness among high school graduates, two Palatine High School students had the opportunity to speak about a District 211 program that prepares students for their futures.

Palatine High School juniors Gabriela Alvarado and Luis Miranda attended the 2015 60 by 25 Network annual meeting Jan. 26 in Springfield. The students made introductory remarks about District 211's Manufacturing Program. They joined students from East St. Louis High School and North Chicago Community High School who were also invited to speak about programs at their schools.

The 60 by 25 Network includes Illinois communities working toward the goal of 60 percent of adults to possess a college or career credential by 2025. The network is designed to help communities ensure that students gain knowledge and skills necessary for post-secondary education or career training, which will make them more competitive in the job market.
