Judson University chapel services to focus on matters of race

During the week of Feb. 15, Judson University's chapel services will focus on racial identity at 10 a.m. in Herrick Chapel, 1151 N. State St., Elgin.

During Race Matters Week, invited guests will use poetry, art, preaching and other communiqué to convey messages of equity and justice.

On Monday, Feb. 15, the chapel community will hear from Amena Brown, a spoken word poet, author and event host from Atlanta, Ga.

On Wednesday, Feb. 17, Judson will welcome author and educator Soong-Chan Rah, the Milton B. Engebretson Professor of Church Growth and Evangelism at North Park University.

And, on Friday, Feb. 19, the Rev. Nathaniel Edmond, senior pastor of Second Baptist Church of Elgin and a Judson board of trustees member, will take the stage.

Each chapel presentation is free and open to the public.
