St. Charles East's Mudlong qualifies for boys bowling finals

The St. Charles East boys bowling team didn't qualify for the final two rounds of the IHSA state finals on Friday but the Saints will have one individual in the finals competition for a state medal.

Junior Dean Mudlong rolled a 1,358 series for his 6 games at St. Clair Bowl in downstate O'Fallon. That placed him 20th among all the individuals and gives him a shot for a state medal Saturday.

Nate Stubler of LaSalle-Peru is the individual leader with a 1,463.

St. Charles East finished in 21st place as a team with a pinfall of 6,109. Only the top 12 teams get to compete on Saturday. Lockport is the team leader with a 6,777.
