'Teen Wolf' Tyler Posey shows his funny side at Sundance

PARK CITY, Utah (AP) - Tyler Posey is having the ultimate Sundance experience.

The star of MTV's "Teen Wolf" went snowboarding in Park City, rubbed elbows with Spike Lee and showed off his latest movie role at the independent film festival.

"I feel like I'm experiencing the epitome of Sundance," said the 24-year-old actor, who was attending the festival for the first time. He stars alongside Austin Butler, Natasha Lyonne and Justin Long in the latest film from writer-director Kevin Smith, "Yoga Hosers."

Though Posey has led "Teen Wolf" for six seasons, he was nervous about how he'd be received in this new role.

"I was worried about my performance," he confessed. "I'm usually intense and dark and brooding, but I was such a comedic actor in this film. There was not one bit of intensity from me."

Relief came in the form of audience laughter at the film's midnight premiere.

"It was my first time watching it around a group of people," Posey said. "I love the movie and I was ready to laugh, and everybody else laughed, too. It blew me away. It made me so happy."

Posey, Butler and Long partied alongside producers and fans of the film at the Kia Supper Suite this week, where Los Angeles restaurant The Church Key provided the snacks and jewelry company Stella & Dot provided the bling.

The party also featured an unexpected reunion of Jay and Silent Bob, the movie characters originated by Jason Mewes and writer-director Smith.

The Sundance Film Festival wraps on Sunday.
