Palatine H.S. students go to Springfield to discuss manufacturing education

Palatine High School juniors Gabriela Alvarado and Luis Miranda traveled to Springfield on Tuesday to speak about Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211's manufacturing program.

The students' remarks were made at the annual meeting of the 60 By 25 Network, which includes Illinois communities dedicated to getting 60 percent of their adults a college or career credential by the year 2025.

The network helps communities ensure that students gain the knowledge and skills necessary for postsecondary education or career training, making them more competitive in the job market.

Only three educational programs from across the state were chosen for recognition at the network's annual meeting. Students from East St. Louis High School and North Chicago Community High School also were invited to speak about their schools' career-building programs.
