Newsmakers Forum to focus on real estate, construction

The state of the suburban commercial real estate and construction industries will be the focus of the next Newsmakers Forum hosted by the Daily Herald Business Ledger.

The Real Estate & Construction Newsmakers Forum will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Hilton Lisle/Naperville, 3003 Corporate West Dr., Lisle. The event will begin with networking and display exhibits. A buffet lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. with a panel discussion beginning at 12:15 p.m.

The panel will include Art Rendak, president, Inland Mortgage Capital Corp, Oak Brook; Dan Allen, executive director, CISCO (Construction Industry Service Corp.), Burr Ridge; and Bryan Gay, economic development director, Choose DuPage. Among the topics to be covered are commercial real estate trends, shortage of skilled construction workers, economic impact of right-to-work zones, the evolving office sector and economic development projects.

The cost is $45 and includes lunch. Members of partner business associations receive a 40 percent discount. Register at www.dhbusinessledger.com.
