Mack, Swedura pace a triple-OT Prospect victory

Frankie Mack and David Swedura scored 21 points apiece to help Prospect's boys basketball team win a high-scoring nonconference matchup at Glenbrook North on Tuesday.

In a contest that took three overtimes to decide, the Knights prevailed 76-71.

It was tied at 54 after regulation. Both teams scored 8 in the first OT and 3 in the second before Prospect ouscored the Spartans 11-6 in the third extra session.

Mack finished with a team-best 5 assists. Antonio Gardner had 14 points, and Matt Szuba had a team-high 8 rebounds and 3 assists.

Swedura made the only 3 he attempted and shot 7-for-14 from the field.

Prospect improved to 11-7 while Glenbrook North fell to 11-7.

Crystal Lake South 61, Schaumburg 51: Host Crystal Lake South got a game-high 22 points from 6-foot-2 senior Zachary Geske to top the Saxons and improve to 11-8 after a noconference victory.

Schaumburg (5-17) got 17 points, including five 3s, from Aaron Kline, and 14 points from Samuel Smith.

Geske had 12 points in the first quarter, during which the Gators outscored the Saxons 22-12.

Christian Liberty 67, Harvest Christian 48: Jesse Castro made a pair of 3s and finished with a game-high 22 points as the visiting Chargers (4-15, 3-5) picked up a victory in Northeastern Athletic Conference play. Brendan Munoz had 11 points for Christian Liberty.

Rolling Meadows 50, Dundee-Crown 44: The visiting Mustangs (4-14) snapped a four-game skid by picking up a nonconference victory against the Chargers (1-16).
