Sign up for Kane County Citizens Police Academy

Join the Kane County Citizens Police Academy, hosted by the Kane County Sheriff's Office, for a 10-week course providing citizens with an opportunity to learn how policing works in their own community and offering each participant a behind-the-scenes perspective into the many facets of law enforcement.

Each course topic is developed and led by a seasoned sheriff's deputy. This course is a resource for the teachers, community leaders, neighborhood watch leaders, elected officials, or students pursuing a degree in criminal justice.

Topics include traffic laws, crime prevention, identity theft, scams/fraud, patrol, investigations, corrections, gang identification and more.

The free course will be offered from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, March 23 to May 25, at the Prisco Community Center, 150 W. Illinois Ave., Aurora. Three of the courses will be held at the Kane County Sheriff's Office, 37W755 Route 38 in St. Charles.
