Judson seeks nominations for D. Ray Wilson Volunteer Service Award
Judson University is now seeking nominations for the D. Ray Wilson Volunteer Service Award, which is presented each year to the candidate who has contributed to the greater good within the Fox Valley community by voluntarily serving others' physical, emotional, intellectual or spiritual needs.
The D. Ray Wilson Volunteer Service Award will be given during Judson University's Community Prayer Breakfast, which will be held from 7:30-9 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, in the Lindner Fitness Center, 1151 N. State St., Elgin.
Last year's recipient, Velma Sept, was honored for her long-standing volunteerism throughout the community. Over the years, she has helped with literacy programs, prenatal workshops, local scholarship drives, food outreach and more. She has also served in various capacities on multiple community boards. Additionally, the 30-year U.S. Postal Service vet travels with family as part of the singing Larkin Family of Chicago.
Past award recipients have included: Dr. Risé D. Jones, Mary Rees Freeman, Edward Hunter, Donna Anderson, Nancy Schueneman, Jack and Marlene Shales, Floyd Brown, Murna Hansemann, Dr. Clare Ollayos, and Carl Flaks.

All nominators and nominees are invited to attend the breakfast.
General admission tickets are $25. Table sponsorships are also available. Nonprofit organizations and individuals can sponsor a table of eight for $350. Businesses and for-profit organizations can sponsor a table of eight for $500.
Online registration begins Tuesday, March 1.
