Lake Park students to present 'The Foreigner'
A quiet fishing retreat takes a crazy turn when students from Lake Park High School perform the comedy "The Foreigner" by Larry Shue.
In the play, a fishing lodge in rural Georgia provides a quiet getaway for demolition expert Froggy LeSeuer so he brings his painfully shy friend, Charlie, along for a retreat. Through a crazy turn of events, Charlie overhears more than he should, which forces Froggy to tell the other characters that Charlie speaks no English and is an honest-to-goodness foreigner.
"I chose this play because it is hilarious," director Kath Weber said. "The situations are ridiculous and every character is so quirky. It has been fun to prepare, and I can't wait to share it with our audiences."
The cast features Niko Callas as Charlie, Kenny Herron-Cologna as Froggy, Matt Reilly as Ellard, Zach Koptik as David, Gina Robertelli as Catherine, Kayla Falco as Betty, and Riley Morrison as Owen.
Performances are at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 4 to 6, at Lake Park High School, East Campus Dice Auditorium, 600 S. Medinah Road, Roselle.
Tickets, available at the door, are $5 for adults, $3 for non-Lake Park students, and free to Lake Park students, children younger than 13 and senior citizens. For information, email lptheatreboxoffice@lphs.org.
