Missing Wood Dale couple found

The Wood Dale Couple who had been reported missing Tuesday were found Wednesday just after 9 p.m. in Deerfield. Wood Dale Deputy Chief Mike Rivas said both 87-year-old Donald Warren, founder of the Rosemont-based Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, and his wife 80-year-old Jeanette were found in good health. Truck driver cited in school bus crash that injured 9 students

Nine children were taken to two hospitals Wednesday after a crash between a school bus and two semitrailer trucks just after 3 p.m. Wednesday in Beach Park. The driver of the truck that rear-ended the school bus was determined to be at fault for the crash and is being cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, no proof of insurance and no driver's license on person, authorities said. Many Metra trains could have new braking system by end of year

Executives say a new crash-preventing brake system should start operating on Metra's BNSF Line by the end of the year. The brake system, PTC, can stop a train when a crash is imminent or speeding threatens a derailment. Full story.
