Stevenson tops Hinsdale South for third at WW South
Stevenson wrapped up its participation in Wheaton Warrenville South's Martin Luther King Jr. boys basketball tournament with a 46-41 victory over Hinsdale South in the third-place game.
Justin Smith scored 10 points to go with 7 rebounds and 5 assists, and Ryuji Aoki also had 10 points for the Patriots (13-5).
Stevenson had dropped a 66-47 decision to the Hornets in Thanksgiving tournament play.
Brian Kern scored a game-high 20 points in this matchup, and Xavier Fobbs had 11.
Warren 63, Bartlett 44: At Wheaton Warrenville South, Declan O'Connor scored 17 points to lead the Blue Devils, who opened up a 19-10 advantage after one quarter and were up 28-15 at halftime and 48-27 after three.
Warren also received 9 points from Juwan Perry and eight apiece from Jayson Dorsey (two 3-pointers), Maurice Chambers and Josh Pelland.
Vernon Hills 47, Streamwood 46: Tanner Tolari and Michael Dougherty scored 14 and 11 points respectively to pace Vernon Hills, which held Streamwood to 31 percent shooting from the field.
Grayslake North 61, Mahomet 52: At Washington, the Knights completed the Martin Luther King tournament with their third win in a row. Grayslake North (15-2) went 3-1 in the tourney.
