Libertyville Police seeking armed robbery suspect

Libertyville Police are searching for a man who stole $850 in cash from the Car Spa early Saturday morning.

The offender entered the business in the 500 block of Peterson Road at 7 a.m. and confronted an employee as he was unlocking the doors, authorities said.

The black male, who is described as being bald or having a shaved head, implied he had a weapon, authorities said.

After taking the cash, the man ran from the store westbound on Peterson.

Police were called after the offender left the store, officials said. A search of the area by Mundelein and Libertyville police failed to find the man.

The employee was not injured, authorities said.

The offender is described as 5-feet, 6-inches to 5-feet, 8-inches tall, has a medium build and was wearing a black jacket with the word "POLO" written on it. The offender also pulled a black hood over his head during the robbery, authorities said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Libertyville Police Department at (847) 362-8310.
