Fremd takes Titan Relays

Fremd's boys swimming and diving team capped a big weekend by taking top honors in Saturday's Titan Relays hosted by Glenbrook South.

The Vikings, who'd earned a tie with Barrington on Friday in Mid-Suburban League action, finished with 235 points to edge Glenbrook South (230).

Trevian relays: Powered by a victory from junior Colin O'Leary in the 100-yard backstroke, Barrington finished fifth in the team race in the Trevian Relays hosted by New Trier.

New Trier won with 169 points, followed by Neuqua Valley (155), Lyons (147), Stevenson (124) and the Broncos (104).

O'Leary completed the backstroke in 53.00, and he also earned a third-place finish in the 100 fly (53.32).

at IMSA: Sophomore Michael Balcerak had event victories in the 50-yard freestyle (22.16) and 100 backstroke (54.23) and also anchored the winning 400 free relay as the Lions earned a runner-up team finish to West Aurora in a five-team field.
