$1 million Powerball tickets sold at Woodfield Mall, Glenview

While none of the three winning tickets for last night's $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot were sold in Illinois, a pair of $1 million prizes will be paid out to people who bought tickets in Schaumburg and Glenview.

The identities of the state's newest millionaires are not yet known, but a spokeswoman for the Illinois Lottery said one $1 million ticket was purchased at the Newstand store in Woodfield Mall.

The winning numbers were 4 - 8 - 19 - 27 - 34, with a Powerball of 10

A $1 million ticket has all the winning numbers except for the Powerball number.

Usha Thakkar, who has owned the store since 2003, said she has sold thousands of Powerball tickets in the last two weeks.

“I don't know who (the winner) is, but I'm so happy for them,” Thakkar said Thursday morning.

Thakkar said she does not know if her store will be rewarded by the lottery for selling a winning ticket, but lottery representatives will bring her a sign announcing that a winner was sold there.

The Glenview ticket came from Citgo Food Mart, 915 Greenwood Road, according to the Illinois Lottery.

A total of 45 prizes of $50,000 or more were won in Illinois on Wednesday night. In the Daily Herald coverage area, $100,000 tickets were sold in Park Ridge and Waukegan, according to a news release.

Tickets worth $50,000 were sold in Lakemoor, Algonquin, Bolingbrook, Aurora, Plainfield, Des Plaines and Itasca, the news release said.
