Saint James School Celebrates the Arts during Catholic Schools Week

Arlington Heights, IL. January 11, 2016 - She is an acclaimed pianist, having traveled the world performing as a soloist and a chamber musician, and her next stop is Saint James School in Arlington Heights. Students in grades Pre-K through 8 will meet classical pianist, Yana Reznik, and listen to a magnificent selection of pieces ranging from Baroque to Contemporary, accompanied by short explanations and fun facts by Yana allowing the students to relate to the musician in a personal way and be inspired to follow their passions for music.

This Cultural Arts event, sponsored by a parent volunteer organization, the Saint James Parents' Club, provides ongoing culturally enriching programs and academically enhancing experiences to motivate students in and out of the classroom. This unique presentation parallels those goals. Yana has planned a "fun, interactive, engaging, and inspiring program developed to make every student in the audience fall in love with classical music." She will invite the students to participate actively during the performance.

The first week of February is a celebration for Saint James School students and Catholic Schools around the nation. Students at Saint James will enjoy special events during the week, with Yana Reznik's performance right in the middle of it all. This year's focus of Catholic Schools Week is on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to the church, local community, and the nation. Catholic Schools Week begins with an Open House on Sunday, January 31st from 12:30-2:00 p.m.
