COD's January 'Images' Highlights Distinguished Alumni, Study Abroad Program

"Images," College of DuPage's monthly one-half hour television show, features in its January edition segments on the College's Distinguished Alumni and the Study Abroad program.

Each month, "Images" highlights the personalities, news and curriculum of a vibrant College of DuPage campus. The show airs on 13 area cable television stations.

The January "Images" highlights the 2015 Distinguished Alumni celebration which honored eight COD graduates for their achievements. Alumni Marco Benassi, Jolene Kremer, George Macht, Heather Miller, Mariam Pare, Ted Raspiller, Tony Venezia and Eileen Ward recently returned to the Glen Ellyn campus to meet with students and share how College of DuPage helped shape their lives. The day's events included tours of campus, a luncheon and reception.

This month's show highlights educational opportunities available through the College's Study Abroad program. The Field and Experiential Learning, Study Abroad and Global Education program at College of DuPage offers a variety of classes that use the world as their classroom, including domestic and international opportunities in a broad range of subjects. The College has offered many successful international trips since 1970 and has taken students to more than 80 countries spanning all seven continents.

The January edition includes a segment on the College's Electronics Technology program, which emphasizes hands-on learning through experiments and projects that are selected and paced to reinforce the theoretical material. The program offers a low-cost, high-quality education; a comprehensive placement service; laboratories with the latest equipment; and small classes.

Also featured is "In the Kitchen with Chris," with Culinary Professor Chris Thielman. This month, Thielman shares step-by-step instructions on preparing sautéed scallops with pecan pesto sauce.

Images airs at various times on cable television stations in Downers Grove, Wheaton, Addison, Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, Naperville, Glendale Heights, Bartlett, Lemont, Elk Grove, Darien, Aurora and West Chicago. Check local cable listings for times and channels.
