Lakes tops Wauconda for victory No. 10

Lakes got its tenth win of the season by topping Wauconda 57-32 in North Suburban Conference Prairie Division girls basketball Monday.

The Eagles (10-6, 4-1 Prairie) got a team-high 11 points from Ellie Haviland. Sarah Zellman and Izzy Quaranta chipped in with 8 points apiece.

"I'm very proud of the girls tonight," Lakes coach Brian Phelan said. "They talked well both on and off the court."

For Wauconda (10-7, 2-3 Prairie), Corrina Vaughan had a game-high 13 points while Allie Tylka hit 5-of-6 field goals for 10 points.

"We started off well with a 9-0 run to begin the game," Wauconda coach Jaime Dennis said. "However we have struggled with consistency all season and mental lapses were our downfall tonight."
