Villanova women hand No. 24 DePaul 1st Big East loss, 64-60

CHICAGO (AP) - Caroline Coyer scored 18 of her 25 points in the second half, Katherine Coyer made a free throw with 6.2 seconds left and Villanova beat No. 24 DePaul 64-60 on Sunday to knock off the lone unbeaten team in Big East play.

It was the first win in eight all-time tries at McGrath-Phillips Arena for Villanova (10-6, 4-2).

Caroline Coyer hit a deep 3-pointer - her first make from distance in the game - to extend Villanova's lead to 48-43. Then she made a pull-up jumper near the free-throw line and swished a 3 from the wing for a 53-45 lead.

Katherine Coyer hit two free throws, Samantha Wilkes was left wide open in the paint, and Alex Louin and Katherine Coyer each hit 1 of 2 from the line for a 59-50 lead with 52 seconds left as DePaul went scoreless for three minutes.

Chanise Jenkins led DePaul (12-6, 4-1) with 19 points.
