Bartlett Library hosted Preschool and Daycare Fair on Jan. 9

The Bartlett Public Library District hosted its annual Preschool and Day Care Fair on Saturday, January 9 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Parents were able to talk with representatives from local preschool and daycare facilities, and to pick up brochures, pamphlets and information on the different services and activities they offer.

Youth and Teen Services Assistant Manager Phyllis Sadowski put on the program.

"This event shows what a great resource the Library is," Sadowski said. "Parents don't have to run around all over town looking for possible schools and such. Here, they can talk to providers face to face all in one room."

Among the parents who attended the event were Ann and Dan Appleyard, frequent users of the Bartlett Library.

"Our son, Malcolm, will need a preschool soon, so this was a good event to go to," Ann said. "[The Preschool and Daycare Fair] gave us a lot of options. Everyone was helpful and we got a lot of information."

Kristen Dompke and Tobi Iott from Precious Tots Preschool thought that it was a great event to be a part of.

"This is our second year coming here," Dompke said. "We came back because we received great feedback last time when parents registered their children with us. It's also a great way of getting our name out there since we are a fairly new school."

Iott explained that it's fun to meet parents and play with the children at the Preschool and Daycare Fair as well.

Preschools and daycares present included: Bartlett Park District Preschool, Brewster Creek Kindercare, Kumon Math & Reading Center, Precious Tots Preschool, Kripa Montessori School, Living Lord Lutheran Preschool, Safari Childcare, Trinity Lutheran School and Give Me Five (a U-46 program for emergent reading).
