Chilly weather for Chili Open in Des Plaines

Daily Herald report

Players in the Des Plaines Park District's annual Chili Open - billed as nine holes of golf in the glorious warmth of the January sunshine - may not have seen much sun Saturday, but at least they beat the snow and cold that came later in the day.

The winter golf event, open to participants ages 8 and up, included a chili lunch at Club Casa in the clubhouse at the Golf Center Des Plaines.
