Give special gun permits to veterans

If ISIS attacks a school or business, the victims are told to throw books, pencils, and other objects at the attackers. This will not save them.

The following is what I propose to stop these killers in their tracks. As a Korean War vet and having served with the Illinois National Guard, I can attest to the value of using firearms to stop killers (ISIS) from carrying out their deadly agendas. Hot lead from men and women who know how to shoot is the only answer to their surprise attacks.

Those people who are trained military veterans with honorable discharges and clean records should be allowed to have "concealed carry" permits without having to pay hundreds of dollars for the right to defend themselves and others.

Wisconsin and other states require an honorable discharge and a small fee of $50.00 from veterans to have a permit issued to them. I suggest that Illinois follow their example.

Men and women who have served in a war (or a police action) know the value of having means to defend themselves. In the recent rampage, it took the police precious minutes to respond to the killings; by then, the damage had been done. Immediate response by a few armed citizens could have taken the killers out before their

killing spree started.
