Glenbard offers workshops on financial aid and college entry exams

High school students and their parents can learn about college entry exams or apply for college financial aid in two upcoming workshops offered by Glenbard High School District 87.

The Glenbard Parent Series: Navigating Healthy Families will present the college-related workshops on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Glenbard North High School, 990 N. Kuhn Road, Carol Stream.

High school seniors and their parents are encouraged to attend a FAFSA financial aid completion workshop from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Glenbard North's computer lab. Participants will receive one-on-one assistance filing the FAFSA financial aid form online from financial aid specialists at the Illinois Student Assistance Corps. Participants should bring the following necessary documents: 2015 Federal tax return (preferred), 2015 W2 forms, record of untaxed income and investment/asset/business value. Assistance will be available in English and Spanish.

Freshmen through juniors are encouraged to attend the "Everything You Need to Know About the ACT/College Tests and Study Skills" workshop at 7 p.m. in Glenbard North's auditorium.

John Healy, Glenbard North assistant principal of instruction, will present in English, and Susanna Melon, Glenbard North dean of students, will present in Spanish. Participants will learn the latest information about college tests, test taking and study skills strategies, as well as the resources and supports for school success.
