Winter Stage to present 'Mary Poppins'

The whimsical adventures of "Mary Poppins" will be presented by Fox Valley Park District's Winter Stage in January.

The show about the magical English nanny who teaches the Banks family how to enjoy life again will be performed Friday, Jan. 8, through Sunday, Jan. 10.

Show times are 7 p.m. Friday, 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Prisco Community Center, 150 W. Illinois Ave. Aurora. Tickets are $9 in advance or $11 at the door. To reserve specific seating, order online at seatyourself.biz/foxvalleyparkdistrict.

"This is a family favorite based on the famous children's books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film that many adults fondly remember seeing when they were kids," performing arts manager Kyle Donahue said.

"From the opening moment, this performance will warm your heart. It's a beautiful and fun show, wholesome and funny - truly an all-time classic."

The cast consists of more than 60 members ranging in age from 4 to 40-plus, and including an ensemble of dancers from the A-Factor Dance Company and other park district dance programs.
