Elgin employee accused of stealing Explorer funds

Elgin's top animal-control officer was arrested yesterday on a charge he stole $6,000 from a police Explorer post he supervised. The arrest came after the police department decided to audit the Explorer account because of the investigation into Fox Lake police Lt. Joe Gliniewicz, who killed himself for fear his theft of Explorer funds would be discovered. Full story.
