Chicago parks to offer free fitness center access in January

CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago residents who've made getting in shape a resolution for the new year are in luck.

Dozens of Chicago Park District fitness centers say they're offering a free week of membership in January.

In a news release, district officials say they'll offer free access until Jan. 10. The more than 70 facilities have multi-station weight machines, treadmills, stationary bicycles and classes.

Registration is required and all activities are first come, first serve.
