Tell us of any important initiatives you've led. If you are a challenger, what would you bring to the board and what would your priority be?I will bring my experience as a public servant and my knowledge of working with public budgets and groups. My priorities will be to become a voice for district 5 and to educate the public on what this district has to offer. The forest district's money for land acquisition and development is drying up. Is a new tax-rate increase for more bonds needed? If so, when? And why?A further study is needed and I feel that by bringing this topic to my constituents this will help me determine on how to proceed in the future.When the forest district bought the new headquarters building in Libertyville, the intent was it would include the Lake County Discovery Museum, but a big state grant to fund that is on hold and the overall vision is in limbo. The district also wanted to rent a fairly large portion of the building. What scenarios do you envision for the museum, given the turn of events since the headquarters building was originally acquired.To reach out to the state to release the grant. Also, have community involvement to help reach out to not only local representatives but the state representatives as well.
