If you are a challenger, what would you bring to the board and what would your priority be?Currently managing the implementation of a $6,000,000 Case Management System for States Attorney, Judges, Public Defender and Circuit Clerk in Kane County.In Will County..Implemented Electronic Orders of Protection.Obtained a $300,000 grant for systems integration.Implemented collection of delinquent accounts. Over $25,000,000 collected to date.Electronic signature presentation to members of the Illinois Supreme Court.Implemented electronic citations with Will County Law Enforcement.I have been to courts from Washington to Florida, been to Federal Court,worked with every large county in northern Illinois, worked extensively with every law enforcement agency and every justice agency in Will County.Describe your position regarding the allocation of resources in the clerk of the circuit court's office. Are personnel allocated as they should be? Are there capital expense or other budgetary items that the office must address, and, if so, how do you propose to address them?Staffing must be based on qualifications, not who they know or office politics. Recent moves and titles in the Circuit Clerks Office are designed to give the impression of authority and responsibility. Don't be fooled. A 5 year plan and budget must be developed for future automation of the courts. Will County spent nearly $500,000 on planning for future automation. Two consulting firms were hired, studies were done, recommendations made, and the plans have collected dust on shelves. The Circuit Clerk can no longer operate like an island. We need to include all the Justice Partners in long range planning.Describe your position on transparency in the office and the ease of access to records by the public. If you believe improvements are needed, what are they and how would you go about achieving them?Concerning office transparency, today there is none. Don't take my word for it, ask the staff. Provide for anonymity as retribution will be harsh. Moving forward when a mistake is made, we will openly address them. We will learn from them. We will move on. Current public access is good. It should be, I designed the website, maintained it for years and implemented the current public access mechanism. However, a top priority is that I want to ensure the Justice Partners and Law Enforcement are getting the service and access they need as well. That is a concern.Please list any elected office you have ever run for and what the result of that election was. Have you ever been appointed to fill an unexpired term?I have been an elected(not appointed) Democrat Precinct Committeeman. I have been elected(not appointed) Chairman of the New Lenox Democrats.What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?The citizens of Will County should elect the next Circuit Clerk. I am not one of the Circuit Clerk good old boys and nobody's puppet. The Illinois Supreme Court may mandate electronic filing of civil court cases by January of 2018. Will County has been floundering in this area. The framework needs to be in place to incorporate e-filed cases.No candidate from either party has the education and background that I will bring to the office.I would like the support of the Democrats, Republicans, Newspapers, Independents and the unions, but most of all the People of Will County.Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Currently none. Bernie Trump?What is the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?Wash your hands before you eat, and warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.If life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?Curing Cancer, My mom just passed.What was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?History, it hasn't helped.I liked gym class too. It hasn't helped either.If you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?Don't be like dad. They took the advice. They are great kids.
