Blackhawks recognize Youth Hockey Player/Coach/Volunteer of the month

CHICAGO, December 29, 2015 - BMO Harris Bank today announced, in partnership with the Chicago Blackhawks, the recognition of Jake Hardy, Jeff Schoner and Ed Urban as the BMO Harris Bank Youth Hockey Player, Coach and Volunteer of the Month. Peter McNitt, Vice Chair, BMO Harris Bank, presented the awards to Hardy, Schoner and Urban during the on-ice ceremony at the December 15 Blackhawks game.

For the past eight seasons, BMO Harris Bank and the Chicago Blackhawks have teamed up to honor one youth hockey coach and youth hockey player each month for their outstanding achievements both on the ice and in their communities. This is the third year BMO Harris Bank and the Chicago Blackhawks are recognizing one volunteer of the month, awarded for their efforts in giving back to their community. All candidates are nominated by teammates, coaches, friends or family members through the Blackhawks' website and are judged by an amateur hockey committee.

Player of the month and Lake Bluff resident Jake Hardy is a junior at Lake Forest High School and right wing for the Lake Forest Scouts JV hockey team. Hardy, a High Honor student and Lake County Character Award Winner, is also a weekly tutor and mentor at the Forrestal School in North Chicago. Jake's favorite Blackhawks experience was watching the Hawks fight off elimination in game 6 of the Western Conference Finals last year against the Anaheim Ducks.

Coach of the month Jeff Schoner lives in Park Ridge and coaches the Admirals Hockey Club in Glen Ellyn. Schoner helped start the Admirals club in 2007 and has coached several age groups over the past 8 years. Schoner and his wife, Stephanie, have two sons who played hockey in Glenbard.

Worth resident Ed Urban is a volunteer for the Cobras Hockey club where he serves as president, hockey director and Web page manager. Urban began volunteering with club as way to assist the organization and make a difference in his community.

BMO Harris Bank congratulates Jake Hardy, Jeff Schoner and Ed Urban on all of their accomplishments both on and off the ice.
