Arrests made in Schaumburg, S. Elgin burglaries

An 18-year-old woman is facing charges of burglary in connection with burglaries in South Elgin and Schaumburg.

Tatiana Ivanov was charged Dec. 21 with one count of residential burglary in Schaumburg, according to a news release from the Schaumburg Police Department that indicated she lived in Mundelein. According to police, on Dec. 10 she broke in to a home on the 600 block of Breakers Point and stole unspecified items.

In Kane County, she faces charges of residential burglary and possession of burglary tools for a Dec. 18 incident in South Elgin, according to court records that listed her as living on the 500 block of Glenshire Road in Glenview. She is free on bail in that case.

Kane County court records indicate the same charges were brought against four other people regarding a South Elgin burglary the same day. Ali Ivanov, 36, of the same address in Glenview; Janko C. Petrov, 21, of the 700 block of Stone Place in Wheeling; and Angelo Petrov, 22, of the 400 block of Stone Place in Wheeling, have made initial court appearances. It is not clear if they were released on bond. Christopher Doborov, 20, of the 0-99 block of Voltz Road in Northbrook also been charged, but it is not clear whether he has been arrested.

Schaumburg police also announced an arrest in another case. They are investigating whether it is related to Ivanov's.

On the evening of Dec. 24, police saw Moris Polis, 54, of Chicago, standing between houses on the 800 block of Seers Drive, according to a news release. Authorities said he ran off as officers approached him but was soon caught.

Polis has been charged with possession of burglary tools. He is free on bond and is due to appear in court Tuesday.

In early December, Schaumburg police identified a burglary pattern in neighborhoods in and around the Park St. Claire, Lexington Fields, Plumwood Estates and Essex Club subdivisions.

The burglars broke in when residents were not home. They usually entered through a rear door and stole jewelry and money.
