District 214 named Apple Distinguished Program

Northwest Suburban High School District 214 has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished Program for 2015 to 2017 for its one-to-one mobile device program.

District 214 carefully introduced tablets into the classroom over five years through a teacher-led, professional learning-focused process. Today, every student in the district has an iPad to use for learning in the classroom and at home. The technology has transformed teaching and learning.

The Apple Distinguished Program designation is reserved for programs that meet criteria for innovation, leadership, and educational excellence, and demonstrate a clear vision of exemplary learning environments.

"The expanded use of technology has provided our students and teachers incredible learning opportunities by having access to an iPad 24/7," said Keith Bockwoldt, the district's director of technology services. "This has broken down the walls so students can now learn at their pace and on their schedule."
