Fremd finishes with a win at Wheeling

Fremd 50, Waukegan 34: The Vikings (11-4) emerged from Wheeling Hardwood Classic action with a 2-2 record after claiming a 50-34 victory over Waukegan in Saturday's seventh-place game.

Kyle Sliwa led Fremd with 13 points, which included a pair of 3s. The Vikes had good scoring balance with significant production from Patrick Benka and Samson Oladimeji (8 points apiece), Brian Dompke (7) and Payton Kim (6).

Ja'Dayn Brown paced Waukegan with 13 points.

Dundee-Crown 47, Maine West 46: The Chargers edged the Warriors in Saturday's 9 a.m. contest at Wheeling to claim their first victory of the tournament.

Sophomore point guard Julian Dones scored a game-high 16 points and senior forward Jack Framke had 14 for Maine West (2-10). Dones made four 3s and Framke had a pair.

Sophomore Jack Orndahl led Dundee-Crown with 13 points.
