Quarterbacks Mariota, Yates each leave games with injuries

Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota injured his right knee in the second quarter of Sunday's loss to the Patriots.

Mariota was hurt on an 8-yard sack by Jamie Collins one play before Ryan Succop kicked a 49-yard field goal that made it 14-3. Mariota said he doesn't expect to miss the rest of the season.

"I wanted to go back in right away," said Mariota, who was more concerned with the stability of his knee than the pain. "The training staff felt if I wasn't 100 percent it wouldn't be good for me to go."

The Patriots suffered injuries to linebacker Dont'a Hightower (knee), receiver Danny Amendola (knee) and safety Patrick Chung (hip).

Another quarterback got hurt when the Texans' T.J. Yates left with 1:14 to go in the first half because of an injured left knee. He was hurt on a scramble run that was wiped out because of a holding call on Duane Brown.

Coach Bill O'Brien said he didn't expect Yates to play next week and didn't provide a specific update on the injury.

Yates was 6 of 10 with 68 yards and one interception.

Other injuries included:

- Bills running back LeSean McCoy left early in the second half of a loss to Washington after hurting his right knee.

- Washington's injuries were safety Dashon Goldson (bruised rib), right tackle Morgan Moses (sprained foot), running back Matt Jones (bruised hip), center Josh LeRibeus (sprained ankle) and linebacker Will Compton (stinger).

- Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith left with a thigh injury in the first quarter against the Chiefs.

- Chargers running back Melvin Gordon (knee) and linebacker Kyle Emanuel (concussion) left the game. Injured for the Dolphins were offensive tackle Branden Albert (knee), linebacker Chris McCain (knee), linebacker Koa Misi (back) and center Mike Pouncey (foot).

- San Francisco lost running back Shaun Draughn to a second-quarter knee injury and right guard Marcus Martin to a concussion in the fourth quarter against the Bengals.
