Organizers say moving Naperville marathon good for business

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (AP) - Organizers of the Naperville marathon say moving the race to the city's downtown was good for business.

They say last month's citywide marathon generated more than $240,000 for charity and more than $2 million for local businesses.

The Naperville Sun reports (http://trib.in/1QsYdzJ ) that race co-directors appeared at the City Council this past week to thank officials for clearing the way for the move.

The Healthy Driven Naperville Half Marathon and Marathon moved from Knoch Park to the city core.

The Nov. 8 run was a qualifier for the Boston Marathon. It was the third time the all-city event has been held.
