Marijuana dispensary opens Monday in Buffalo Grove

PDI Medical, a medical marijuana dispensary, will open Monday, Dec. 21, at 1623 Barclay Blvd. in Buffalo Grove, offering qualified patients one-on-one consulting by pharmacists and cannabis experts as well as a wide variety of pharmaceutical-grade cannabis medicines. Owners include pharmacists Joseph Friedman and Mark Mandel.

Only patients and caregivers with a state-issued registry identification card may enter an Illinois medical marijuana dispensary. However, PDI Medical has a public access space where any patient can ask questions and get advice without a card. Staff members will be available to walk through the application process, including providing passport photo and state-certified fingerprinting services.

PDI Medical is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. through 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Mandel is CEO of PDI Medical and owner of Mark Drugs, a 30-year-old compounding pharmacy with locations in Deerfield and Roselle. Friedman is chief operating officer. Information is at (224) 377-9734, or pdimedical.com.
