Northwestern State overwhelms NAIA's Missouri Valley 105-79

NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) - Zeek Woodley and Bailey Walker combined for 43 points as Northwestern State dominated NAIA's Missouri Valley 105-79 on Saturday.

Five Northwestern State players scored in double figures as Woodley had 23 on 9-of-14 shooting and Walker, who had 15 points in the first half, finished with 20. Sabri Thompson added 13, and Matt Killian and Ta'Jon Welcome chipped in 10 apiece.

Northwestern State (2-7) shot a scorching 60 percent from the floor in the first half to take a 63-35 lead at the break, the most points scored in a half since scoring 72 in 119-102 win over Central Arkansas in the 2013-14 season.

The Demons hit 12 of 24 from distance and made 38 of 69 from the floor (55 for the game.

Northwestern State had dropped three straight games to Auburn, Arkansas and Baylor before picking up this win.

Darryl Lemear led Missouri Valley with 14 points.
