Truck crash delays Metra trains

Metra's BNSF trains are running 15 to 45 minutes behind after a truck struck a bridge earlier at Kedzie Avenue, Metra officials say.

The obstruction briefly shut down trains in both directions in the peak of rush hour on the line that runs from Aurora to Union Station.

Both inbound and outbound trains are on the move again, Metra officials say. An extra outbound train has been added to help accommodate passengers from Congress Park to Aurora.

Officials asked passengers to listen carefully to platform announcements, check Rail-Time Tracker for current delay information or visit metrarail.com.
