Lake Zurich's Fresenius Kabi initiates infusion pump validation
LAKE ZURICH - Fresenius Kabi, a global health care company that specializes in medicines and technologies for infusion, transfusion and clinical nutrition, announced Thursday it has signed a global, multiyear agreement with Epic Systems Corp. to validate the interoperability of its electronic medical record platform with Fresenius Kabi infusion systems.
"Our agreement with Epic is another step in positioning Fresenius Kabi pumps with customers around the world as they look to meet their EMR goals and achieve device connectivity standardization," said Christian Hauer, president, medical devices at Fresenius Kabi. "Fresenius Kabi will continue to develop and certify its current and future infusion devices with Epic and other leading EMR providers."
Epic Systems Corp. has its headquarters in Verona, Wisconsin.
A global company in infusion technology, Fresenius Kabi markets its Agilia large volume infusion pump and related disposables in the U.S. and more than 95 other countries.
Fresenius Kabi's products and services are used to help care for critically and chronically ill patients. The company's U.S. headquarters is in Lake Zurich. The company's global headquarters is in Bad Homburg, Germany.
