Marian Catholic pulls away from St. Viator

Marian Catholic's girls basketball team used a 16-3 advantage in the final quarter to pull away to a 54-32 victory over St. Viator at the Cahill Gymnasium in Arlington Heights on Wednesday.

The Lions, who slipped to 4-8 and 0-2 in the East Suburban Catholic Conference, were led by senior Julie Bergstrom (11 points) and sophomore Myia Clark (9).

Bergstrom had a pair of 3-pointers while Clark (2 assists) and Solimene each had one.

Junior Jenna Breslin led the Lions on the boards with 8 rebounds while Bergstrom, Maggie Leazer (2 steals) and Haley Robinson each had 2 apiece.

Viator returns to action on Saturday to begin play in its 33rd annual Blenner Holiday Classic. The Lions face Leyden at 3 p.m.
