'Life and Adventures of Santa Claus' comes to Palatine stage

Palatine Park District presents three performances of "The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus" on Dec. 21, 22, and 23. These Family Friendly Theatre performances will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center, 150 E. Wood St., Palatine. Tickets are $6 per person or $5 per person for groups of 10 or more.

"The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus," performed by Theatre Nebula, answers the question, "Where did Santa Claus come from?" In this beautiful new adaptation based on the classic book, the beloved symbol of Christmas is removed from his conventional trappings and placed into the world of imaginative folklore. There are many stories that tell of his life, but the delightful version relayed in this adaptation is by far the most charming and original of all.

Only L. Frank Baum, the man who created the wonderful "The Wizard of Oz," could have told Santa's tale in such rich and imaginative detail. From his humble beginnings in an enchanted forest of mythical creatures to his toy deliveries to all the world's children, this production is a must see for all ages. It is adapted for the stage by local playwright Nick Izzo. Running time is about 60 minutes.
