Prairie Ridge snaps Hampshire's 6-game streak

Prairie Ridge picked up an important girls basketball win Tuesday in the Fox Valley Conference Fox Division, 37-35 over Hampshire in overtime.

Nikki Dumoulin paced the Whip-Purs (8-3, 2-1) with 11 points. The loss snapped Hampshire's 6-game winning streak.

South Elgin 72, Cary-Grove 44: Ten players scored for the Storm (6-3) paced by Bridgette Williams with 17 points. Nadia Yang added 10 points and Mackie Kelleher and Teagan Pompa both scored 8.

The Trojans (1-10) were led by Becca Kendeigh with 11 points, Jennifer Pilut with 10 and Madeline Gorz with 8.

St. Charles North 74, Hoffman Estates 58: Claire Jakaitis scored 23 points, Anna Davern had 13 and Morgan Rosencrants also hit double figures with 10 for the North Stars (5-2).

Bartlett 58, Schaumburg 30: Kayla Hare led a balanced Bartlett attack with 13 points. Kelly Harris (11 points, 5 rebounds), Shelley Lyjak (10 points, 4 steals), Kaitlin Brohan (9 points, 7 rebounds) and Nicole Gerdevich (8 points, 5 rebounds) also contributed strong games for the Hawks (6-4).

Glenbard East 53, Streamwood 27: The Sabres (0-10, 0-4) fell behind 15-0 in the first quarter of this Upstate Eight Conference River matchup. Jenejha Williams led Streamwood with 8 points.
