Fresh visitors bleachers coming to Waubonsie Valley HS

The bleachers at Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora are in line for an upgrade.

Work to replace the visitors-side bleachers and press box will provide more capacity and seating that meets the standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act, district administrators said.

Indian Prairie Unit District 204 school board members approved a $559,135 contract with Southern Bleacher of Texas to install new visitors bleachers to seat 1,000 people and a new press box. Work is scheduled to take place beginning in May so the new seating can be in place before the next football season.

The new bleachers will replace visitors side seating that was built in 1975 around the track and football field. The upgrade will bring Waubonsie's visitor seating capacity in line capacity at the district's two other high schools, Neuqua Valley in Naperville and Metea Valley in Aurora.
