Tires on more than 100 vehicles slashed in Libertyville

Libertyville police said someone slashed the tires on more than 100 cars in a residential and business area.

Police responding to a report of criminal damage to a vehicle on the 700 block of Eton Court on Friday morning found the tires had been slashed.

Police said they also found a large number of vehicles - at least 100 - with the same type of damage at surrounding car dealerships along Milwaukee Avenue near Golf Road and many others in the residential neighborhood nearby.

Officers on Saturday were unsure if there was video from any of the car dealerships to identify a possible suspect.

Anyone whose tires were damaged and has not spoken with a police officer should call or visit the police station, 200 E. Cook Ave., and provide their vehicle make, model, year, license plate, and description of damage. Anyone who saw anything or anyone suspicious in the southeast part of town between about 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. Friday should call (847) 362-8310.
