Residents can choose playground equipment for Naperville parks

Naperville Park District residents can help select equipment for the 2016 playground renovations planned in their neighborhoods.

Parks slated to receive playground updates are Walnut Ridge Park at 2304 Keim Drive; Huntington Estates Park at 867 Rockbridge Drive at Ann Reid Early Childhood Center; and Old Sawmill Park at 432 Massachusetts Ave.

Three separate open house meetings are scheduled in January, each of which will take place at the district's planning and development office, 425 W. Jackson Ave.

• The open house for playground renovations at Walnut Ridge Park will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12.

• The open house for playground renovations at Huntington Estates Park will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19.

• The open house for playground renovations at Old Sawmill Park will take place 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26.

Parents are encouraged to bring their children and may come at any time during the given time period. There will not be a formal presentation.

"Each playground design offers several variations, including color, types of slides, and layout of equipment. We invite parents and children who will use the playground to help make these choices," said Jessica Burgdorf, project manager.
