Hoffman Redhawks advance to championship game
The Peewee Hoffman Estates Redhawks football team will be defending their title as reigning Pop Warner national champ Friday morning, as they take on the Brick City Lions of New Jersey in the Super Bowl championship game in Orlando.
The Redhawks earned their place in that game Tuesday by defeating the Parkland Rangers of Florida 24-22. Last Saturday, the undefeated Redhawks trounced the Gilbert-Chandler Bruisers of Arizona 24-8.
The team of 21 players is a strictly volunteer program run by parents for the children. No players are turned away because of economic status or athletic ability.
