Holiday revue features music and comedy in Grayslake

The musical spirit of the holiday will descend on Grayslake with "Jingle Bell Rock," a raucous holiday revue, at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, at the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts at the College of Lake County.

"Jingle Bell Rock" is a family holiday celebration that features a live band, talented singers, wacky holiday antics and Santa Claus. Audiences will be treated to yuletide classics such as "Deck the Halls," "Sleigh Ride" and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," as well as contemporary holiday hits such as "Hey, Santa," "Run, Run, Rudolph" and "All I Want For Christmas Is You."

In addition to featuring 35 songs, the show also adds a dash of comedy to the holiday entertainment with a hilarious send up of the classic movie "It's a Wonderful Life" in two minutes flat, an audience-driven version of "A Christmas Carol," a look at classic holiday TV specials from yesteryear and special appearances by Suzy Snowflake and Santa Claus.

"Jingle Bell Rock" was created by Andy Ferrara and Dave Wolowic of Plan-B Entertainment/Hey Dave! Productions, which brings musical theater to audiences across North America and throughout the world.

Both men have wide-ranging experience directing and producing touring musical productions, Hollywood films, TV shows and entertainment at Disney theme parks worldwide.
