Versluys closing in on Westminster record
Maddie Versluys pulled within 7 points of becoming Westminster Christian's all-time leading scorer - girls or boys - in a 55-30 win over Christian Liberty on Monday.
Versluys finished with 20 points, 9 steals and 5 rebounds, bringing her career total to 1,520 points.
Elise VanNoord added 12 points and Hannah Haecker grabbed 7 rebounds for Westminster Christian (3-5).
Elgin Academy 30, Faith Lutheran 18: Gia Joyce scored 12 points and added 4 rebounds and 2 blocks helping Elgin Academy (1-3) pick up its first win of the season Monday. Kalia Higa contributed 6 points and 5 steals, and Liz Huerta tallied 4 points.
Woodstock North 62, Elgin 53: The Maroons (1-6) came up short despite Lakiya Harvey's 20 points and 19 from Alisha Panthier.
